The Parent Patent suggested the preheating of Diesel fuel by exhaust gases of the engine before injection into the cylinders. It is now suggested to preheat petrol, ether or ethyl alcohol before combustion to a temp. far above their b.pt., i.e. over 100 degrees C. (200-600 degrees C.) above. In the case of petrol, no carburetter is required. In all cases, an improved utilisation of the fuel energy is achieved.
