An aerosol spray can contain a paint comprising (a) 5-60 wt.% of a water soluble, neutralised resin film former obtd. by reaction of (i) resin contg. sufficient carboxyl gps. to be water solubilised by reaction with a base to form a salt and (ii) amine or ammonia as neutraliser in amt. of =60% of the theoretical neutralisation requirement of the resin, (b) 35-95 wt.% of a water soluble solvent for the neutralised resin and (c) is not 8 wt.% water. Matt to high gloss water resistant coatings may be obtd the paint being readily cleaned up by water. The compsn. contains only minimal amts. of water eliminating can corrosion and stability problems.
