Video disc recording system - has two sound carriers for two disc speeds to allow standard disc replay on standard TV receiver of different standard
The video disc has a vision carrier and two independent sound carriers recorded on it. The two sound carriers are modulated differently such that at a first disc speed the first carrier gives the original sound after demodulation whilst at a second disc speed carrier gives the original sound after demodulation. The dual sound carrier system enables, Standard-M video discs to be replayed on Gerher-Standard television receivers. The system is able to reduce loss of information to a min.
