A process for decoration of china comprising making a transfer with areas of one colour (e.g. black 12) on larger areas of another colour (e.g. gold 11), the firing of the colours after transfer being such that the temperatures of fusing and hardening of the said other colour is lower than those of the said one colour, whereby the firing of all the colours can be carried out in one firing operation. The fusing of the lower colour provides a stable base for the overlying colours. IMAGE
