With drawing pens which have tubular nibs it is often difficult to start the ink flowing. A special tool to overcome this problem consists of a small plastic cylinder (1) which screws into a piece of plastic tube (16). The plastic tube (16) screws onto the pen (7) and has an internal shoulder (15). This shoulder (15) forms an abutment for a rubber sealing washer (9) with a taper bore which matches the nib holder (10). The lower part of the cylinder (1) contains a piston (4) attached to a rod (2) with a knob (11) screwed to its other end. When the piston (4) is pulled downwards it creates a depression in the cylinder (1) and sucks ink out of the tube (13) which forms the nib of the pen (7).
