The outer casing is in two halves (2, 4) the bottom (2) having a blade (10), on edge and fixed permanently. The top half (4) has a guide channel (5), housing a moving blade (6) which can move parallel to the fixed blade. When fitted together, the casing has a gap in which fits the belt (7), one wide face resting on the fixed. The moving blade has an angled cutting edge (9) at one end; the other end, on the outside, being fixed in a grip handle (8). This is pulled, the cutting edge severing the belt as it passes across. Spring loaded blades can also be used.
