The grinding machine is for many edge profiles with a workpiece chucking device which can turn through corresponding dividing angles about the workpiece axis. There is also a feedable, rotating or fixed grinding disc of which is cup-shaped. The grinding disc (10) has an axis of rotation (14) at right angles to the workpiece axis (8). It can be adjusted towards the workpiece axis (8) with respect to the workpiece (4). The front face (18) of the grinding disc (10) is dressed such that it is parallel to the workpiece axis (8) at its point of engagement with the workpiece (4), when its axis is tilted at an acute angle.
