The solenoid system is used for supporting and guiding a magnetically levitated vehicle. The arms of the solenoid core can be moved relative to the yoke. Each arm is spring supported and has vibration dampers. One arm has a bore at right angles to the yoke and hemispherical shoulder resting on a bearing seat.
