The turret rotary machine has a tail stock opposite to the work spindle. The tool turret head is fitted on a cross slide. The head has locations for outer and inner rotary tools equally distributed over its periphery. The changeover axis (13) of the head (7) extends vertically to the rotary axis (15) and is located with it in a common plane. The head has an odd number of accommodating points (17) for the rotary tools (19). There can be preferably five, or as low as three, in number.
