The spectacle lens edge grinding machine has a rotating grinding wheel on a fixed stand. The spectacle lens is held in a holder moving axially and radially. The lens holder shaft carries a lens template in contact with a tool on the machine frame. Any broken areas and burrs on lens edge are ground away and a smooth chamfer is formed. Adjacent to the grinding wheel (1) is fitted a deburring grinding wheel (11) held on the grinding wheel shaft. A distance away from both these grinding wheels (1, 11) is arranged a second template shoe (12) adjacent to the template shoe (10) on the machine frame, if the machine upper part cannot be adjusted to the deburring position. The flexible deburring grinding wheel (11) is split in the wheel mid plane and wheel parts can be adjusted by axial flexibility.
