The fence has sections made up from self-supporting panels joined to each other horizontally and held in position by anchor elements. Adjacent panels overlap to define an angle in the vertical plane at right angles to the fence (1). Panels (2, 3, 4) can be directly placed together at the top edge, and have intermediate spacing members (8, 9) bridging the interval between them lower down, pref. in the form of stirup loops with bent ends. The anchoring device (11) can engage spacers connecting the bottom ends of adjacent panels, and can be in the form of a shaped bar fixed to such a member.
