1,258,253. Masted lift trucks. LANSING BAGNALL Ltd. 5 Feb., 1969 [16 Feb., 1968], No. 7789/69. Heading B8H. Straddle legs 13, 14 of a lift truck are pivotally connected by means of transverse spindles 43, 44 to the body portion 12 of the truck and are interconnected in such a manner that upward pivotal movement of one leg is accompanied by downward pivotal movement of the other leg. The legs consist of channel sections 21, 22, provided with brackets 41, 42 having bearings for the spindles 43, 44, and lever sections 36, 37. The ends of the lever sections are pivotally connected to the ends of a link 45 which is connected at its centre to the body portion 12 of the truck by means of a ball-joint 46. The channel sections 21, 22 support the forward rollers 19 of a reach carriage 16 supporting the mast assembly, the rear rollers 23, 24 of the carriage being supported on channels mounted in the body portion 12. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the straddle legs are provided with modified lever sections 36, 37 whereby the channel sections 21, 22 are located outside the width of the truck, lateral extensions carrying the carriage rollers 19 being provided.
