1356076 Attenuated virus vaccine; interferon induction BAYER AG 8 Dec 1972 [10 Dec 1971] 56723/72 Heading A5B A virus is attenuated by serial passage on tissue cultures until it will stimulate interferon production without producing specific immunity to the orginial virus. The virus may be I.P.V. virus (otherwise known as infectious pustular vulvovaginitis, Exanthema coitale vesiculosum bovis or cattle blister rash), pseudorabies virus or influenza virus. It may be passaged on calf kidney, suprarenal or testicular tissue. The attenuated virus may be compounded with a liquified gaseous diluent, isotonic fluid, a buffer solution, a liquid having a molecular weight of 200 or more or a solid diluent. The composition may be used as tablets, pills, dragees, capsules, ampoules for intramuscular injection or nasal sprays, or suppositories. They may be applied to cattle or pigs.
