The barometer is provided to compensate for different prevailing air pressures. The barometer box is arranged in a chamber sealed from atmosphere. The chamber is in the fuel injection pump regulator (4). The regulator is connected by a pipe (7) with the induction pipe (3) downstream to the air filter (2). The advantage claimed by enclosing the barometer in a chamber closed to atmosphere is that pressure differences caused by a partly throttled air filter can be avoided.
