The system is designed to simulate on a reduced scale the movement of liquid contained in a ships hold. It has a tank which represents on a reduced scale the ships liquid containing tank. The tank has a support (1) which oscillates around a first sensibly horizontal axis (A). This axis (A) being supported on a fixed structure (70). The tank support (1) has a first element (4) which pivots around a second axis perpendicular to the first and corrected to the first axis. The tank support has also a second element which carries the tank. The system has control and displacement means (10, 11, 50, 51) for pivoting the tank around the first and second axes, so as to reproduce movement of the liquid initiated by movement of the ship. The second element moves with a rectilinear to and fro direction with respect to the first element (4).
