Petal for artificial flower is manufactured by assembling at their bases two or more rings of flexible wire having the same dimensions, with the tops of the rings aligned with the base of the assembly, forming a knit in a tube of stretch material at the base of the assembly, stretching the tube over the rings and forming a second knot, in the tube at the tops of the rings. The remainder of the tube at the top is then drawn back down over the rings to the base, and its free end is tied again at the base. Pref. there are two rings arranged in planes which are orthogonal at their centres and secant to a straight line passing through the tops of the rings and the common base. The stretch material is pref. a knitted fabric of textured synthetic threads.
