The multiplier circuit working on a current division principle is used for processing video signals. It contains a four quadrant multiplier with current division control, the input to be multiplied being fed to the multiplier. The multiplier consists of two pairs of emitter-coupled transistors and is fed via a logarithmic arrangement. In order to improve the circuit transfer characteristic by linearising the control inputs a controlled feedback circuit is placed between input and output of one of the transistors of the first pair. The feedback circuit is gated only during the blocking pulse. The circuit is of sufficiently wide band width for video signal processing.
