A heater in which atomised oil is vaporized and burnt as vapour, and in which the distribution of the flame's heat is controlled so as to prevent soot from forming on the burner. For this purpose, a suitably dimensioned baffle, or flame tube, or both, is to be fixed to the burner. The baffles and flame tubes may be in various forms i.e. convex, perforated, dished covers etc.
