The flexible coupling is used for transmitting high torques fitted between the shafts on an engine and a flywheel, in a motor vehicle. This coupling accommodates large angular and also axial misalignments has high torsional damping characteristics. The coupling has concentric sleeves (3, 4, 5) with enclosing end flanges (2). These flanges form curved teeth couplings (11, 12). One of these is connected with a central sleeve (3), fastened on its inner and outer face by flexible layers (6, 6a) on concentric sleeves (4, 5) held on the other end flange (2). These flexible layers can be cylindrical rubber sleeves vulcanised between the central sleeve and one of the concentric sleeves or pressed into this position.
