The musical instrument has several groups of strings, with strings tensioned by pegs. Strings of each group lie in a horizontal plane, at least two of which are provided. Each peg has a stem with a hole for the string end, a head for a spanner and a cylindrical shaft inserted with a press fit into holes in a wrest bar of the instrument. The peg shaft (12a) has a second hole (15) at a distance (A) from the first (14), which at least corresponds to the distance (B) between the two planes.
