The hinge is for the covering door of a box and partic. for built-in kitchen furniture, having a recessed housing fitted in a recess in the door and a support member for fixing against the box sidewall. Housing and member are coupled by a lifting arm and a support arm which intersect and hinge together at the intersection point. The outer ends of lifting and support arms are coupled respectively by a lower arm and a guide arm to support member and housing. The hinged joint (18) between lifting arm (10) and lower arm (17) is adjustable, so that even with a door of different thickness to the box wall, this can be swung open through 90 deg, its inner surface being in line with that of the wall in the open position.
