Mfr. of one-piece seamless tights on a circular knitting machine is carried out by knitting in alternating movement row of stitches in decreasing then increasing numbers, to form an L-shaped bed for the body portion. Progressive variation of the heel portion in this region to provide the bend with increased fullness, and an adapted shape is formed simultaneously, then a cut is performed to form the waist opening. Pref. the bend is provided with a constant width over all or most of the bend, the width being measured according to a direction perpendicular to the bisectrix of the angle formed by the legs. The tights have improved comfort and aesthetic appearance.
