Method of location of aircraft landing on an airstrip by means of seismic detectors. These detectors are arranged along the landing path and collect the seismic vibrations generated by the movement of the aircraft, its engines or by the impact of the aircraft when touching down. The electrical output signals of the seismic detectors, which are a function of the vibration energy received, are compared in order to determine the position of the aircraft with respect to the detectors. The comparison is made linearly by assimilation from the landing strip by a dispersif waveguide of known characteristics. The detectors signal outputs are filtered by a pass band of 1 to 15 Hertz, multiplexed and submitted to automatic gain control of constant time duration where rise time is greater than descent time.
