A missile with a hollow explosive charge has a small secondary charge (6) ahead of the main charge (3) mounted at the tip of the nose (5). This also has a hollow forward portion (6') and its explosion rearwards is reduced by the casing (6") at its rear. This charge is intended to penetrate the target before the main charge (3) explodes. Its distance (D) ahead of the main charge is selected so as not to disturb the action of the main charge. Alternatively, the secondary charge may be mounted on an extension of the nose tip. This extension furthermore may be retracted during flight, then extended. The extension may be caused mechanically, electrically, magnetically or by explosion.
