The nose pressure plates or pads for spectacle frames are perforated with a number of small holes (5) which have a small area. These allow the external air to aerate the surface of the nose covered by the plate or pad (3). The orifices or perforations (5) may be distributed over the plates or pads (3) in the form of geometrical or fancy shapes. This can enhance the aesthetic appeal of the spectacles. The circular edges of each orifice give the internal surface of the plates an area of irregular pressure which helps the wearer to keep the spectacles on his nose.
