In an appts. for beating up the weft yarns to the fabric edge in wave form shed weaving looms, in which the weft carrier has a drive independent of the beater device, and beater discs fixed to a rotating shaft are provided with mutually off-set projections, forming a helical channel with an open groove, and beating up the weft yarns to the fabric edge, the discs are fixed to the shaft between the beater discs, each of which has projecting which grips the weft-yarns, and has a front edge lying between the edge of the beater disc projections and the edge of the beater disc, in the region of the groove, and a front surface coinciding with the rear wall of the groove of the beater discs in the direction of rotation as well as forming an extension of this wall.
