In a closure cap for a container, partic. fabricated from Al and having a destructible reservoir held in the container neck by pressure of an elastic member and available for the introduction of its contents into the container at the moment of use, the reservoir, opt. with the intervention of a seal, lying on the container neck, (a) the cap periphery is basically cylindrical and engages the peripheral flange on the container neck, (b) an upper part of the cap is provided with a series of axial grooves distributed round its periphery and extending up to an open end and delimited downwards by horizontal closure surfaces in a peripheral plane aligned with the upper face of the peripheral flange of the reservoir, and (c) the grooves as a whole form inwardly projecting ribs and their lower closure surfaces form uniform shoulders distributed round the periphery and serving to press the peripheral flange of the reservoir onto the container. The cap provides a closure gap giving a secure seal, very suitable for use in automatic packing units, since there is no way in which one cap can be pushed into another and remain clamped. The required shoulders for holding the cap in sealed contact can be produced in the deep drawing process used for cap mfr.
