The chambers of a liq. separator each have a bottom outlet and a top outlet whose height is adjustable. A number of such chambers are arranged for series flow, so that from a multicomponent mixt. the lightest remaining component is removed in each chamber. The device is used for the continuous sepn. of a number of components of differing specific gravity from a multi-component mixt. It is a compact single unit serving the purpose of a number of individual separators.
