Metal-reinforced rubber cords or belting and, in partic. conveyor belts with longitudinal embedded steel wire rope or similar metallic reinforcement, are vulcanised by passing successive lengths of the belting through a vulcanising press, partly curing, and then fully vulcanising outside the press and in a stretched state. The pressing cycle is shortened yet vulcanisation is complete and uniform, good bond to the reinforcements, good quality end-prod.
