Arrangement for holding a lighting fitting cover, has fastener which is a spring loaded rotating cranked lever. One arm of this lever forms clamping arm for the lighting fitting cover and other arm is used as actuating arm for the clamping arrangement. Arrangement is universally applicable to lighting fittings of wide variety of types without support plates. The leaf spring (18) used in the arrangement is fastened on one end of the support (13) for the crank lever (1). This spring exerts compression force in the direction of the clamping side (14) of the clamping lever. The rear face (4) of the clamping arm (2) has ratchet lug (5) which is loaded by the leaf spring (18).
