The toy and 'keep-fit' piece of appts. is set spinning by hand and a lamp glows when a certain speed of rotation is reached. A continuous rhythmic arm movement is necessary to keep the lamp alight. A centre block (11), holding the electrical components, is held between winding and unwinding pieces of looped string. The components are held in place by pegs (3). A battery (14) lies between two contract springs (15, 16). A contact strip (17) is wound to a contact (18) at one end and to a bulb (10) holder (19) at the other end. The contact (16) is connected to the other holder terminal. the contact (15) works outwards under centrifugal force to touch the contact (18) with its end piece (20).
