The multichannel audio reproduction system allows optimum audio reproduction by determining the acoustic effects of a recording and by reproducing them electronically. Primary sound (without the secondary component) is processed by an arbitrary number of channels whilst the secondary sound (without the primary component) is processed using only one or more channels. The acoustic properties of both primary and secondary components are determned separately and converted into pulses for transmission. The arrangement can be used for disc records, tapes, radio and sound for tv.
