The tandem press line has a strip feeding system for two presses in which e.g. electric motor rotor and stator lamellae are pressed from the same strip in synchronised succession. The press line is designed so that only one press can be operated on its own without modification of the setting and basic equipment. The strip material (2) is guided after the first press (8) by a transporter (9) which has a strip loop regulator (10). This transporter is stopped when both presses (8, 12) are operating and it is started when only the second press (12) is operated. The strip is fed into the second press by the feeding mechanism (11). In tandem operation on making large components the first press produces blank components which are finished in the second press.
