The crane-jib (3) is in four telescopically extending sections. The upper side of the crane-jib sections of box-shaped cross-section form a ladder (4). Two angle-pieces (9, 10) are welded between the two metal sides (7, 8) of each crane-jib section. The free ends (9a, 10a) of each angle-piece (9, 10) point inwards. Ladder rungs of round cross-section (11) are welded between the inward-pointing sides (9a, 10a). The underneath side (12) of the box-shaped crane-jib is of continuous material. Inside each crane-jib section are rollers (13, 14, 15, 16) to take the next smaller crane-jib section fitting inside it. The top rollers (13, 14) are positioned underneath the angle-piece (9, 10). On the outside of one angle-piece (9) is fixed a rail (17) open at the top, in which can slide a shoe fixed to a person's safety belt.
