The coupler, for 4 wire communications lines with three or more incoming and outgoing channels, couples together such channels but preserves the decoupling between incoming and outgoing channels in one and the same 4-wire channel. - An active four-pole transfer circuit constructed as an amplifier connects the inputs of each 4-wire channel to the outputs of the other 4 wire channel. The 4-pole circuit has no feedback between input and output. The 4-poles coupled to the same incoming channel have an amplifying input stage common to them all.
