A protective blouse in thin material which is placed over the traditional surgeons or dentists gown has a cut which enables it to closely conform to the neck, shoulders and hips of the wearer. It covers the front upper portion of the wearer only and is provided with ties for passing round the neck and waist, and two 'Velcro' fasteners on the shoulder which co-operates with 'Velcro' fasteners on the gown. It may be discarded after use and has the advantage that it completely protects the neck portion of the wearer.
