Maize straw chopper has a travelling frame on which the chopper is spaced from the ground, with arms rotating about a vertical axis and a fertiliser container supported on the frame. The chopper is in a working space bounded upward by a closed horizontal frame plate and laterally and at the rear end by a skirt extending from the plate downward to near the ground. The fertiliser container opens via outlet(s) into the chopper's working space and into the path of motion of its rotating arms which mix the fertiliser with the chopper residues, giving more efficient treatment of these.
