Process for improving creep strength and resistance to stress degradation of Cu alloys contg. 2-12 (2-10)% Al or 2-6 (3-5)% Ge or 2-10 (3-8)% Ga or 3-12 (4-10)% In or 1-5 (1.5-4)% Si or 4-12 (4-10)% Sn or 8-37 (15-37)% Zn, bal. Cu, comprises (a) cold-working by 10-97 (15-95)%, (b) deforming, (c) heating for =1 (=15) mins. to 200-360 (220-350) degrees C and (d) cooling to room temp. The alloy is useful for prodn. of electric plugs. Strength is unimpaired by the treatment.
