Gasmeter (2) with built-in system for correcting errors and which generates electrical pulses proportional to the rate of flow. The pulses are registered by digital counters (7, 10). Before the pulses arrive at the counting circuits, they will be multiplied (12) by a factor (a) which corresponds to the Reynolds number for the gas being measured. The corrections are stored in a memory (12) and are selected by a signal proportional to the instantaneous volume corresponding to a normal flow. The factor (a) selected can also be on the basis of the mass of gas flowing at the instant. The temperature, pressure and compressibility of the gas are also taken into account.
