Toy pistol for shooting arrows comprises a front sight, and a rear sight of which the height can be adjusted and fixed, and which is pref. mounted on a slide which extends through a vertical slot of the top of the piston and pivots about a transverse pin inside the pistol. The slide may bear a distance scale which during adjustment of height moves past an inspection aperture, and may form a two-armed pivot member of which the free inner arm bearing the scale is sector-shaped. with a locking projection associated with its end surface. The housing is pref. made of polystyrene, while the rear sight and slide are made of polyethylene.
