1476605 Packaging machine; endless conveyers FR HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK AG 4 Sept 1975 [5 Sept 1974] 36375/75 Headings B8A and B8C A machine 1 for filling and sealing packaging containers such as bags, or cartons, comprises a horizontal conveyer 6 for conveying the containers and at least one filling and sealing means 5 for the containers arranged above the conveyer 6, the latter having a plurality of horizontallymovable, driving dogs 9 for displacing the containers and horizontally-extending supporting means comprising a pair of laterally-spaced guide rails 10, 11 for the containers 7, both of the lateral guide rails being adjustable so as to vary the lateral spacing of the guide rails from a vertical plane passing through the centres of the driving dogs. As shown, the driving dogs 9, carried by endless chains, not shown, have driving fingers 12, 13 and recesses 20 which engage a vertically-adjustable support bar 8 for the upper run of the conveyer, the means 5 being carried by a bridge 4 supported by columns 3 mounted upon a machine frame 2. The guide rails 10, 11 are attached to rods 14 which are movable horizontally and securable, in their selected positions, by screws 17 in columns 15, 16, which are pivotal about axes 18. The supporting bar 8 is divided into individuallyadjustable sections in its longitudinal direction.
