The road-roller, esp. as used for consolidating road surfacing material and operating behind a road surfacing machine, incorporates a frame bearing the movement and vibration drive, and a driver's cab, and a number of roller units mounted in two rows. These roller units can be individually adjusted across the direction of travel, and can be regulated independently of one another bothe in respect of the movement drive and of the vibration drive. They are pref. mounted with individual adjustment capability, on a cross beam across the line of travel, each having its own individual frame connected to the vehicle frame, with spaces between adjacent roller unit rames. The cross-beam may be adjustable for length. This provides ready adaptability to the width of the preceding road surfacing machine.
