The replacement window frame has the same dimensions as the old frame and fits into it. The bridging piece has several projections on its outer side, in the middle, facing the inside of the old frame. Between the projections are ducts through which air circulates. On the two edges of the bridging piece are compartments in which sealing is inserted. After insertion, the replacement frame is screwed onto the old frame. On the bridging piece sides facing the interior and the outside are catches into which fit stop-heads of cover-pieces. The cover-pieces extend to the plaster and cover the old frame almost entirely. The window-sash is fixed to the briding piece. On the side of the cover-piece facing the outside there is a seal resting tightly against the plaster and preventing damp from penetrating.
