1384744 Anchoring bolts SONDAGES INJECTIONS FORAGES SIF ENTERPRISE BACHY 16 May 1972 [2 June 1971] 22991/72 Heading F2H [Also in Division E1] To anchor a stay in a drilled bore, e.g. to retain a wall of sheet piles against a rock face 1, a tubular protective sleeve 3, e.g. of steel or plastics, is introduced into the bore, the annular space 18 defined outwardly of a flexible annulus 11 is filled with cement group or with an inflatable sleeve, the stay 12 comprising a bundle of wires 13 is inserted into the sleeve, and cement mortar or grout is forced through a central tube 14 to exit from orifices 15 into the space, defined between the inner end of the sleeve and a sealing plug 16, to simultaneously bind the sleeve to the stay, and, after passing through orifices 7 in the wall of the inner end of the sleeve into annular space 19, bind the sleeve to the walls or the bore. Orifices 7 are preferably overlaid with foil 8 and bands of rubber 9 to form one-way valves, If desired, the stay can be prestressed after anchoring in the bore, and material can subsequently be injected into the space surrounding the outer end of the stay, through tube 17, to prevent corrosion.
