The assembly for fixing a pane of glass or other filling in a window or door frame, or similar, comprises a holding batten made of a hard material, with a cross-arm which can be inserted in a groove in the frame, in a line vertical to the plane of the latter, and a part at right angles to this which overlaps the edge of the filling; and sealing strips, made of elastic material for setting on the filling. The batten and the strip or strips, form a prefabricated unit, combined in one piece before installation, which as different material hardness characteristics in the holding and sealing parts. The sealing and holding components may be firmly joined by gluing or vulcanising, with the former partly enclosing the latter. Production and assembly are simplified, and sealing effect is enhanced.
