1484524 Supercharged I C engine with cooling of charging air SULZER BROS Ltd 12 Sept 1975 [24 Sept 1974] 37601/75 Heading FIB A supercharged I C engine 1 has a blower, in supercharging set 4, to deliver air via a sprayer 10, a cooler 7 and a liquid separator 8 to a receiver 3, a line 14 with a restrictor 16 for limiting the airflow rate being provided for discharging liquid from the separator 8. The sprayer supplies liquid to clean the surfaces of the cooler 7 over which the air passes. The liquid is supplied to the cooler from a reservoir 15 having a partition 23 which divides off the left hand part to form a settling chamber for dirt. A vent 24 allows the escape of air which has passed through the line 14.
