1402056 Measuring railway track unevenness electrically FRANZ PLASSER BAHNBAUMASCHINEN-INDUSTRIE G.m.b.H. 30 July 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 36249/73 Heading G1N [Also in Division B7] A mobile arrangement for detecting vertical unevenness of a rail 1 of a railway track comprises a frame assembly 3 supported by a pair of main wheel assemblies 2,2a on the rails, three vertically displaceable sensors in the form of flanged wheels or axles, being the main wheel assembly 2 and measuring wheel assemblies 6, 7 arranged one behind and one in front of the main wheel assembly along the rail 1, the assemblies 6, 7 being pivotally connected by levers 13, 14, extending substantially longitudinally of the track, to the main wheel assembly, which levers act on flexural bars 16 bearing strain gauges 17 to provide electrical signals indicative of movements of the sensors relative to each other, both the outer sensors being pivotally connected on the main wheel assembly for pivoting both about a vertical axis and about an axis transverse of the length of the track.
