1399998 Convector space heaters E STICH and U D SANER 14 Feb 1973 [15 Feb 1972 6 April 1972 21 July 1972] 7225/73 Heading F4S In a convector space heater comprising a fluid heating tube 5 carrying a plurality of parallel, tranverse quadrilateral fins 1, each fin has a single flanged opening through which the tube 5 extends, the flange 4 resiliently gripping the tube. As shown in Fig. 1, the fin comprises two portions 2 and 3 which are inclined with respect to one another, the upper portion being formed with a rib 6 and the lower portion being formed with a slot 8; the flange 4 is sloted at 7. In modified embodiments (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), the fin portions 2 and 3 lie in the same plane and a plurality of ribs (12 or 16) extend radially outwardly from the flanged opening either to the corners of the fin (Fig. 4) or to a circular rib (11) concentrically surrounding the flanged opening (Fig. 3). In another embodiment, Fig. 5, each fin is provided with a flanged recess adjacent its lower edge into which the tube fits. A panel 2a covers the front of the convector heater, and hot air leaves the heater through openings 8a in an upper wall 7a. In a further embodiment (Figs. 8-11) the fins extend between and are fixed to lateral plates (2b) of synthetic resinous material.
