The photoresistor is connected to one input of a switching amplifier whose other input is connected to a saw-tooth wave-form voltage generator. The output of the amplifier passes through a transformer, and the secondary voltage output controls a tric in the lamp circuit. The saw-tooth voltage generator is in parallel with a reference diode limiting the saw-tooth voltage. The device is useful in augmenting natural daylight automatically in commercial premises especially shops displaying textile goods.
