Unit produces an electrical signal synchronously with the release signal for ignition in an I.C. engine ignition system, to suppress interfering signals. The signal tapped from the primary circuit of an ignition coil is applied to the first input of a threshold value generator and to an integrator for the threshold value from the generator. Pref. the connection point of the coils primary winding and an interruptor contact of the ignition system is connected to two resistors, of which the first is the input resistor of the threshold generator and the second leads to a capacitor acting as the integrator, connected to the second input of the threshold generator to determine the switching threshold.
